To My Father

My first blog ever!!! This blog begins my online presence.

It has been a long, loving journey but only the beginning of the rest of my life as an author. I start with the tale of my younger years in Cuba, the US, and Spain, in my childhood memoir: "Finding Superhero in Havana." Guided by my family, some here and some departed, and God, always here, I wrote who I am, an old man who came from a troubled kid.

I dedicated my book to my father, Licinio Humberto Garcia Perez, nicknamed “Gallego,” RIP, as a celebration of he who guided my life:

"Some kids live their lives, then work to live their dream. It helps when you have good friends and a supportive family to walk the trail with you, who applaud and savor the victories, or wipe away, with sweat in their hands, the longly tears of loss or defeat. It is here and now that I drop to my knees to give thanks for the blessing of having a story to write and the time to write it. This one is for you, Dad!”

I am honored to have you as a guest on my website and invite you to read my memior, "Finding Superhero in Havana," available in print, and now as an eBook.
